Danny's mom, who had been staying with him since his wife Pam's death, was leaving. His best friend, Joey, and his brother-in-law, Jesse, move in. DJ moves to the garage because she doesn't want to share a room with Stephanie. Jesse tries to bribe her to move back in.

In the wake of his wife Pam's tragic death, Danny Tanner must now say good-bye to his mother, who has spent the past few months living at the house. With three daughters under the age of ten, Danny convinces his best friend Joey and rock-n'-rolling brother-in-law Jesse to move in temporarily.

The family tries to get through their first Thanksgiving without Pam. But the pie and turkey are ruined. When two women show up at the door, Danny offers them $200 for their turkey! How will their Thanksgiving be saved?

But Jesse ends up destroying his car, ruining his friendship with Danny, and he does everything he can to get a replacement. When trying to buy a new car for Danny, he has to keep raising the price because of another man trying to buy it too. It turns out that that man is Danny!

Joey gets a lot of money from the bank, so he buys the family gifts. But he forgets to pay Danny an old debt, a debt that Danny insists he does not pay. Meanwhile, Jesse is acting as an Elvis impersonator.

It's Kimmy's birthday. Kimmy comes in with older friends and gets mad at DJ. They end up making up.

Danny meets Denise at the market. She comes over for dinner and brings two friends. When she comes over for dinner, it turns out her and Jesse used to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Joey and Jesse's dates' don't go well, so Danny ends up with Zoey, Joey ends up with Cheryl, and Jesse ends up with nobody.
